Wilfred Ndidi has spoken: we will die against Iceland

Image
Leicester and Super Eagles defensive Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has stated that Nigeria’s players are now looking forward to their next game against Iceland on Friday at Volgograd Arena after failing to perform at their peak in their opening 2018 World Cup tie. On Saturday, the three-time African champions were humbled  2-0 to Croatia and will have to secure a win against Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men to brighten their chances of avoiding an early exit from the competition, a tough one right? And the Leicester City midfielder said the Super Eagles have put the setback behind them and now focused on a better display on Friday. “Even though we are players, we are also Nigerians. The loss is behind us, we die there in the next game,” Ndidi tweeted. Please react to this?

A scary Prediction of World War 3, War is Good for Peace--Ian Morris

Image
It's the scary prediction made four years ago and, now, all of the signs that a deadly global war is on the horizon are coming to pass. If you think the world as we know it couldn't possibly get any worse, don't worry: It soon will. In fact, it will probably happen in about 22 years' time — and that's if we're lucky. That is the estimate of the historian Ian Morris, who in 2014 wrote a groundbreaking book called War! What Is It Good For? In it, Morris argues that war is actually quite good for something, namely peace. Basically the idea is that as long as the same side keeps winning all the wars they are involved in then people will eventually be too scared to fight it and we will all live long and prosper. In other words, living under the Roman Empire was pretty grim when they were torching your village and raping your women but once all the dust had settled and the blokes had been enslaved or killed life was actually pretty good. Morris crunched the

My tribal marks gave me low self esteem

Image
One noticeable feature of popular Nollywood actor, Afeez Abiodun popularly known as Afeez Owo are the tribal marks on his face. While some might argue that he would have been more handsome without them, the actor begs to differ as he told Saturday Beats that he had to face reality and accept what his parents created on his face. He opened up that initially as a young boy, he disliked the marks and went to the extent of using sandpaper to get rid of them all to no avail simply because he was always taunted by bus conductors. Owo added that he would never allow anyone inflict such scars on the face of his children. “I am very comfortable with my tribal marks now and if anything ever wipes them off my face, I would feel bare or naked and my fans would not recognise me. While I was growing up in Surulere, there were a lot of times I was teased by people because of my tribal marks. They abused me so much but I did not care; today my tribal mark is my trademark. There was a time peop

How to control bad breath

Image
Tunde Ajaja It’s one subject of discourse many people shy away from, for reasons that seem somewhat understandable. And the way some people cover their mouths or squeeze their faces when the phrase ‘mouth odour’ is mentioned would almost make it look like it could be contagious. Perhaps, it’s that disgusting and some people seem to wonder why anyone on earth could have such a medical condition. But as repulsive as it is, the Bad Breath Institute in the United States found that one in four persons in the world has bad breath, which is also known as halitosis. It also found that about 35 to 45 per cent of people in the world have some level of bad breath. It also said about 99 per cent of people relatively have not too pleasant breath in the morning. Thus, it is some people’s reality. To those who knew Julius (surname withheld), a mid-level civil servant, closely, they knew it was best to listen to him speak from some distance, than be close to him. The odour that oozes from hi

China will Beat USA in Tech Race

China is going to beat the U.S. in a running competition to dominate “the tech world,” British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said during a private meeting this week. “The Americans have run the tech world for decades. Microsoft, Google, Apple, blah, blah, blah — we’re used to them winning. No, no, no,” Johnson said during a dinner party Wednesday, in a discussion that was recorded and then published by Buzzfeed. “The Chinese are about to win.” China’s technological advances are a point of concern as well as frustration in American circles, where China’s rapid development as the product of “stolen technology” and unfair trade practices. If U.S. policymakers haven’t conceded defeat on the topic, however, Johnson’s comments nonetheless suggest that a key American ally sees the U.S. as a losing bet in at least one area. “They’ve got 5G,” Johnson said of China. “They’ve found out a way. Everybody’s going to be getting stuff on their gizmos through the Chinese system and not the Ameri
