In a telephone interview, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu confirmed the emergence of the President, saying "He did not ask for it, they just gave it to him.”
President Muhammadu Buhari is the new chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Buhari on Tuesday replaced the Togolese president, Faire Gnassigbe. He was named as the chairman at the end of the commission's meeting in Togo today.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is not taking chances to make sure the Super Eagles enjoy a smooth World Cup campaign in Russia in June. Towards achieving this, reports has it that the federation is now ready to pay the players the $2.8 million World Cup qualification bonus from FIFA, Wow. According to a top source in the NFF, the federation was already in possession of the grant and are ready to fulfill its agreement with the players before the trip to Russia. “Right now, we are ready to pay the players the qualification bonus.
